about

I want to thank all the people who supported me over the years with this project. I will name some of those people: Jeff Bush, an inspiration and a brother in percussion; Anthony Jepson Guerra for all the videos, fantastic photos and friendship; Jeremy Shanok for the openness and creative vibe that he inflicted upon me; that day when I heard Naná for the first time in João Pedro’s house; the fantastic Garden Collective Crew for providing the vitamins for this project to flourish; Nuno and Tabea from Muti for believing in this project so much that made it possible to reach this point; the Camones Cinebar Crew for the love and welcoming arms; ScratchBuilt for the lovely recording studio in the person of Ulipiano; Waldy for the patience, good taste, badass recording and mixing; Mr. Assombroso, Luís Vicente, for playing his trumpet while I experimented with electrifying the berimbau for the first time; Eddie Ivers for his ability to make things easier for me (maybe for everybody) and his friendship; Ilya Padalka for his friendship and fixing my mistakes while assuring me that the intro texts were perfect the way they were; Billy Corcoran for his friendship, feedback and all the chats we had about amps and pedals over the years; Peter Murphy for his enthusiasm, guidance on how to forge a narrative for the live shows and elevating my words into poems; my kids Mar and Sol for being legendary amazing humans; my wife Sara H for her love, guidance, strength, ideas and for being my waves, my anchor and my beacon at sea; Jimi Hendrix for the “electric impetus of abandonment”; Naná Vasconcelos for his extreme humanity, sound transcendency and kind words.
